Our new vision statement is: “To make Erie County the best place to live and thrive as an older adult.” This vision reflects our belief that Erie County can become a community known for helping older adults age successfully. We envision a future where older residents are able to maintain their health, preserve their ability to function independently, and continue to thrive throughout later life. Our new mission statement is: “To empower Erie County residents, aged 60+, to maintain their health and ability to function independently by addressing unmet needs.” At Serving Our Seniors, we believe the most effective help is empowering help. Our goal is not to do everything for someone. Instead, we work alongside older adults to help them overcome barriers they can’t overcome, alone. Simply put, we solve problems with people, for the sake of helping them to maintain their health so they can continue to function independently, as they to grow older. We also recognize the future is uncertain. Some issues may not exist today, requiring our attention, but they may become a problem in the future.
